La Vida Belize - Casita

Brad was a great host! The Bungalow on the beach was very peaceful and private. Brad was very accommodating when we requested an early check in and very responsive with every question asked. Would definitely recommend this location, as it is far enough from the hustle and bustle of the City, yet close enough to access. For future travelers…rent a vehicle!

A piece of heaven!!! Private, well maintained property, kitchen is very well stocked. Cute property. Private clean beach to swim in, or you can dip in the private pool solely for the casita. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Brad responded quickly to all messages I sent him.We can't wait to stay here again!

Beautiful private start to our honeymoon! Fishing out front was awesome, and we loved the cutie agouti that hung out by our casita. It was very peaceful and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Placencia town.

After four days hiking in the mountains and jungle, we were ready to slow down. From the moment we saw the casita, we knew we chose the right spot. Perfectly tended and welcoming… from the tumbled stone path and the blooming hibiscus to the reviving plunge pool and coconut palms gently swaying on the very private beach… we felt as if it was our own oasis. The private pier, complete with palapa, was our go to spot for spectacular sunrises and astoundingly stargazing. Highly recommended.

THE BEST Airbnb we ever stayed at. Came here for our honeymoon and it was everything we could’ve imagined and more… close enough drive to the restaurants and the village, but far enough away for total and complete privacy. Pablo the groundskeeper was absolutely amazing for anything we needed . the small details that this place provided were unlike any place we stayed at before and really set it apart. the pool was amazing and we picked and cracked coconuts every morning right from the property for our smoothies (best local fruit you could ever ask for ) . Everything about the property was amazing and we will definitely be back.

Stayed in off season, in casita. We had the place to ourselves, very quiet and peaceful. Everything was great. House had everything you could need. Seen needlefish and stingrays right off the dock.

Pretty cool, listening to the howler monkeys in the jungle at night. Even without air-conditioning, the place slept very comfortably.

Great property! This particular week, the larger house on the property was empty, including at least the next 3 houses on either side! The sand in front is great, albeit a little hard due to rains, and I'm not sure how often, but the property manager even kept it raked several days! The chairs down under the palm tree were great, and they were still just within range of the casita's WiFi. Bed inside was very comfortable; kitchen was great, had everything needed. Hot shower; supplied shampoo, conditioner, and body wash; bug spray & sunscreen - very appreciated! If you're planning on going all the way to the village/bottom of peninsula, a rental car is probably better than a golfcart/bicycle, as it will take around 25-30 minutes by car, given the road you can only drive around 25-30 mph - and be on the lookout for the pedestrian bumps/crosswalks as they can sometimes come out of nowhere! Great location, quiet, away from all noise. The dock was also great to have - a school of fish stayed under almost every time I checked. For this time of year, the Sargassum (kelp) seemed to always roll in onto the beach around 2-3pm, but in the morning, tides would clear it. Given the time of the year is start of rainy season (even though it was clear my entire week), it seemed like many many restaurants were closed temporarily, even some of the resorts, so food were a bit hard to find. Publics grocery store is great & close!Was a wonderful trip and will love to come back again!

Can’t say enough about this place. Highly recommend. The most charming little cottage ever. Truly enjoyed our time there.

LaVida was beautiful, serene and pretty secluded. The private dock and beach made the stay peaceful and we were able to fish right off of the dock. The plunge pool was nice and relaxing, too. Nearby markets and restaurants were very convenient and we were able to cook a couple of meals when we wanted to just stay in. Overall, the property was beautiful and the owners and grounds keeper were available for any needs! Thank you for sharing such a romantic, secluded villa to celebrate our 25th Anniversary! We'll be back, for sure!

What a great little spot to stay. The house was furnished nicely and super clean. The plunge pool is also nice to have and clean. Unfortunately the seaweed was too bad to get in the ocean, but the view was worth it. Privacy isn’t an issue. We will be back.

Excellent place! The amenities: The pool is a plunge pool and is 4.5ft deep with a shelf to sit on. Most importantly- it's private and right on the beach! The kitchen had more amenities than shown- a toaster oven, separate toaster, instapot, etc. More than well enough equipped- and I love to cook, even on vacation! The AC works amazingly well- trust me, I like to keep my home at 64°F when I sleep and I had no issues. Plus there was an extra oscillating floor fan. They even had extra books, games, and a puzzle! We came during rainy season but it only rained once while we were awake and it was so quick! The hammock, dock, and kayak are excellent extras that we used! Cleanliness: I'm the kind of person that brings mh own pillow cases and wears shower shoes no matter what... and this place exceeded all my expectations. Hosts: very friendly and responsive! Excellent recommendations! Overall: This was truly the peaceful, private vacation we hoped for. You cannot ask for much more!

We loved our stay at La Vida Belize. The Casita had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The location was beautiful and easy to get around via rental car. The host was very responsive and provided detailed information and recommendations. We would recommend La Vida Belize if you are considering a stay in Placencia.

The location on the Caribbean is great - the beach is pretty much private for the few casas right there! And when the sea was too active, we just got in the small pool and watched it. Great for stargazing, watching the birds, just relaxing in general. Easy access to restaurants and grocery stores. Driving distance to many activities/preserves if you want to have a day of exploration. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We had to leave a day earlier than planned because of our flight schedule but it was hard to leave because it was so beautiful and peaceful.

We had the best time at this beautiful location! All the amenities were perfect, we spent a lot of time in the ocean using almost everything provided. our hosts were responsive and got us everything we needed. the dock was beautiful, with even better views.

The property was fantastic. Right on the beach, very quiet and private. Close enough to Maya Beach and Placencia that you could get there quickly but far enough away.

The casita at La Vida Belize was an absolute treasure! It is very hard to find words to express our gratitude and delight during our stay. The surroundings were just magical, you must experience it for yourself! My only recommendation would be to rent a vehicle as you cannot get around enough by foot or bicycle to truly appreciate what the peninsula of Placencia has to offer.

Would absolutely recommend for any couple wanting a beautiful view and lovely accommodations! Positive: The casita is lovely and located right near the water with options for hanging out to view the sunrise each day and chill on the deck in the afternoon. The plunge pool is an added bonus on hotter days! Kitchen has everything you need and the bed was super comfortable. We loved it here! Negative: I do think this would be a tight squeeze for more than two people - the extra sleeping spot is a futon I believe. We LOVED hanging out at the casita! I’d say that as you head to placencia the overbuilt-up landscape covered in mansions is a bummer. The village itself is great though!

Loved this place. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Very charming, clean, comfortable, with beautiful sunrises. Having a car is a MUST. It’s about 30 minutes outside of Placencia and while there are some restaurants and stores on the way to town, it’s all driving distance. Brad was very responsive to any questions we had and was able to work with us to extend our stay an extra night.

We just came home after staying for two weeks. This was the perfect little beach house for us - very clean with a well-stocked kitchen. The Casita, white sand beach, plunge pool and dock make this place a perfect little paradise. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Brad and Lucas!

Beautiful location. Very private and calm environment. It rained quite frequently during our stay and we loved having the option to sit on the porch and watch, while staying dry. Great place for a family, the baby accommodations were appreciated. By car we were a very reasonable distance from multiple attractions (Placencia, Hopkins, Butterfly Farm, Jaguar Sanctuary).

The casita, it's plunge pool, and the access to the private beach make for a fantastic - feels like it's away from everything - vacation spot. The nearby restaurants are affordable, welcoming, and delicious. The drive to slight further flung sites is easy once you get the rhythm of driving in Belize. My family is already talking about future trips after our stay with Brad.

Gorgeous view and picture perfect grounds! We chose this place for privacy while celebrating our anniversary. The 1st day we had the entire grounds to ourself, exactly what we wanted. On the second day, the main house behind us rented & then the studio beside it rented also. only 3 parking spaces for all 3 rentals. It had a common area (bigger pool & grill) which we were unable to use do to the main house occupying it with all of their things left out EVERYWHERE & the grill was either being used or left too nasty for us to use. No oven, so we were unable to cook the special dinner that we had planned. This place is VERY small. ZERO drawers or places to unpack leaving us living out of our suitcases for the entire week. Making for terrible pictures of our stay there were way too many & huge sign above the kitchen sink saying NO SMOKING, cheap & tacky looking considering it stated it in our rental agreement.

We loved staying at the Casita! The view is beautiful. We saw plenty of cool birds, lizards, fish, and other wildlife all while we were on property. Loved having access to their E-bikes, which made for a fun trip to Maya Beach. We would definitely come back next time we visit!!

Epic location!

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at Brad's casita. Even with the trade winds and rain, it was a magical place, and once the sun came out - the snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding were perfect! We had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves at this gorgeous property. We weren't familiar with the area before we arrived, so finding the address in the dark was quite the task but once we did, it was everything that was promised in the airbnb listing. We would highly recommend renting a car to get around, as there are no Ubers, etc. You can rent one in Belize City and drive to La Vida Belize (the casita) for two hours, or hop on the Maya airlines and take a quick 25 minute flight. Golf carts are available for rent but would take at least 40+ minutes to get to the beach town of Placencia from the casita. In our car, it took about 20. Thanks Brad, Gaylyn and Lucas! It was perfect!

We had a wonderful & much-needed peaceful visit at Brad’s casita and highly recommend this rental. We had a few stumbles with the storm/travel but Brad helped us at every turn, and they made us feel welcome and watched out for. The casita is beautifully built and feels much bigger than it is. We immediately felt at home & comfortable!

Place was just as pictures, private pool was great. Nice way to relax and watch sun rises.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay at La Vida Belize was. The property exceeded all expectations. absolutely beautiful, private and welcoming. Just a short drive to the placencia sidewalk and shopping/restaurants. Highly recommend!

The Casita was perfect for us. we were able to enjoy our private beach and pool. Easy to cook small meals or drive into town for a restaurant. We loved it.

Simply perfect!

I ended up at Brad's place because the resort the rest of my group was staying at was fully booked. How lucky for me because this place is fabulous. Woke up my first morning and grabbed a paddle board to have a leisurely float over the reef just out past the pier. Beautiful! The bed is comfortable and you'll wake up to a great view! Everything is tidy, plenty of soft towels and 2 pools to relax in. Definitely would stay here again and wish my stay was longer.

Our stay was absolutely perfect in every way! From the Casita and the pool to the pier with the amazing view and breeze! Already looking into our next trip down and renting both the house and Casita! Can't wait to experience the tranquil setting and relaxation again!

We really enjoyed our stay at La Vida Belize and hope to stay there again soon. It was our first trip to Belize and I’m so glad we stayed here instead of a resort. The studio felt super spacious, was extremely cute/functional, had amazing AC (a must), and the grounds were just as beautiful. We loved hanging out in the pool and on the dock. I’m not sure how the weather is at other times of the year (we stayed in mid May), but we didn’t get the clear water you might expect at the beach as it had a lot of grasses and garbage blown in with the winds. This is obviously no fault of the owners and wouldn’t deter us from staying again, just want to share as a heads up. I have to say the recommendations, quick response to our planning questions ahead of time, and the amenities were spot on. Great stay and great hosts - I highly recommend.

What a stunning and serene spot for a getaway! The Casita has everything you need if you’re looking for a quiet time to enjoy all that Placencia has to offer. You’ll wake up in the morning to birds singing and can then enjoy a nice dip in the pool while listening to palm fronds in the wind and waves. We enjoyed the addition of the beach hammocks and had fun trying our hand at cornhole. Inside, the WiFi works great and the AC keeps things cool when you need a break from the heat. Everything was thoughtfully prepared for our arrival and Brad and Lucas were very communicative and accessible if we had questions. Overall, I highly recommend this spot!

Had a great stay at Brad’s place. Excellent lounge pool, grounds, and amazing interior. Brad and the staff were very responsive and helpful in getting us checked in and answering some questions we had! The location was a little further north on the peninsula so it’s not super central but other than that everything was perfect!

The Casita was absolutely beautiful, and perfect for so many reasons. It felt like we had our own little slice of paradise! The private and well appointed space, views, proximity to delicious food, and activities was more than we had hoped for. Our host and his team were very friendly, had excellent communication, and went above and beyond to make our stay in Belize amazing. Thank you!

This was our first time in Belize and the first place we stayed while here. This was the perfect way to start our trip. It was so relaxing. The accommodations were just what we wanted and we loved the access to the ocean and the use of the pier. We saw turtles every morning😍 The restaurant recommendations were great and so close. Lucas also went above and beyond in assisting us in getting our car out of a sandy parking spot near one of the restaurants. He made that situation so much less stressful. We so appreciated his help. Thanks for the great start to our trip. We would definitely come back!!

Just perfect! We really enjoyed our time at La Vida - everything we needed. Some might think it’s a bit far from Placencia center, but for us it worked well to explore other areas (rental car a must). Buy roadside tamales in Maya Center! Visit Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary and Bocawina!

The Casita is beautiful and SO peaceful. It was a comfortable and relaxing stay, and we found Lucas to be very friendly and responsive when we had questions. We made use of the restaurant recommendations, pool, hammock, seating on the pier, snorkeling equipment, paddle boards, and kayak. There’s not a great place to ride bikes, although we did see people biking on the main road. Our favorite thing to do was just chill at the little table on the porch while reading, playing cards, or eating in our semi-private slice of paradise. Highly recommended!

Amazing place.

Place was amazing, just what we were looking for. Private area with options for eating and groceries within a 10 minute drive. The little pool on the front deck was perfect for cooling off on hot days and the dock was a great place to watch the sunrise. A little slice of heaven.

Brad’s place is perfect if you’re wanting privacy and a place to relax. Sits about 15 min away from Maya Beach where all the restaurants and a grocery store is. The Green Parrot was our favorite local spot to eat. Definitely bring bug spray, they’re ruthless out there! The hosts communicate very well and helped us with all we needed, along with tour booking. I would definitely recommend LaVida!

We had an amazing stay! The property was easy to get to, check in was a breeze and we were welcomed with fresh coconuts. The place is perfect in size and accommodations. The beach starts right at the bottom step. Sunrises on the beach are incredible. The dock had a beautiful cabana where you can relax and feel the ocean breeze. I will surely stay here again. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing romantic getaway.

We had such a great time at LaVida. First vacation I believe that I came back fully rested. The area was so quiet; no traffic, no loud sounds, just the sound of the waves rolling in. Having fresh cocunut water from the palms in the back yard everyday was so refreshing. The PM, Lucas was super helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great visit! We'll do our best to get back.

Great place to stay close to Placencia with plenty of privacy. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the dock and all the lizards!!

We had a truly great experience at La Vida Belize! It’s always a little daunting traveling in another country for the first time, but Lucas and Brad’s communication was fabulous and proactive, which made the entire trip more enjoyable. The bungalow was perfect for my wife and I, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach, pool and pier. The bungalow and grounds were clean and well kept. We did quite a bit of cooking ourselves. Groceries and restaurants were nearby, and excursions were a bit farther away (1-2.5 hours), but we didn’t mind that. The area is quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks for your Belizean hospitality Brad and Lucas!

I could write pages of how wonderful this whole experience was, but I’ll leave it at this. My wife and I could not have picked a better place to spend our anniversary (first trip ever without kids, lol). The host and everyone involved with the property are amazing. The setting, scenery and people are as beautiful as anyone could ask for. Michael 602-4768 was a great taxi / guide. We loved cruising in our rented golf cart as well. A lovely little spot with near-private beach and convenient location for great snorkeling. Hosts were kind and responsive. Unfortunately, there was construction next door from 6am-6pm each day of our stay.
